Yash sways across a smile, quite hesitantly. Words have to be prized out of him, but he has a smile to offer and a truckload of achievements too. On any given day, you would find him amidst his friends- school, home (yes, they call their ashram their home) but it is amidst this everydayness that Yash manages to stare unflinchingly at his goals and push the envelope every time.
Yash has been in the Ashram ever since he was nine years old. Life had driven him to its closure. He recalls he was about to leave studying when at the very cusp of the moment he found a home in the Ashram. “A lot of my time was spent roaming about the streets”, says Yash. Manav Mandir came as a relief to him, it is here that he built his foundations. Yash enjoys playing and studying, not necessarily in this order. He is as good in field as he is in academics. Yash has been soaring high in academics ever since he came here. Achievements and accolades mark a season of their own in his life. He achieved the first position in nursery class. Ever since then, he has been securing the first or the second rank in his class. Yash smiles and recalls that he has secured the first position six times!
Yash has recently been elected as the vice president of the Children Committee which looks after the needs of all kids in the Ashram. He has taken this duty determinedly and is eagerly waiting to help other kids.
However, it is on the field that Yash wants to make his mark. He learnt football only after coming to the Ashram. Ever since then football has become his passion. “I want to see myself in the field of football.”, Yash says smilingly.
